first_imgA MAN who smashed a window in a house causing €500 worth of damage woke up the next day and went on Facebook to admit his role in the incident, a court has heard.Gareth Bryson, from Grahamsland in Carrigans, later told gardai he was drunk at the time.Inspector Michael Harrison told Letterkenny District Court that Bryson was returning to Donegal from a night out in Derry in a taxi when a row broke out among those in the vehicle. Bryson, who is 26, lifted a rock and smashed the window of a house in Lifford during the incident.“The next day Mr Bryson went on Facebook and told a friend of the injured party that he had carried out the attack and had apologised,” said Inspector Harrison.“Gardaí were called and Bryson admitted straight away his role.”Defence solicitor Kieran Dillon said Bryson had been drinking heavily on the night of the incident.“A row developed in the taxi bus and words were exchanged,” said Mr Dillon.“The next day when he realised what he had done he went on Facebook to accept his responsibility; he apologised and offered to compensate the victim.”However Mr Dillon said Bryson, who lives with his mother, had not come up with the €500, saying he had started saving money but had needed it for bills.“He is now back on track and trying to advance himself and very much regrets what he did. He went to gardai voluntarily,” said the defence solicitor.Judge Paul Kelly agreed to adjourn the case until Bryson pays over all €500 to the victim.MAN WHO SMASHED WINDOW WENT ON FACEBOOK TO SAY: ‘IT WAS ME’ was last modified: February 2nd, 2016 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:CarrigansdrinkFacebookFightLiffordrowlast_img read more
